I have two Android phones and have been doing development with Expo Go for about a year. Suddenly about two months ago, Expo Go would not start on the Galaxy A13 running Android 13. Uninstalling and then re-installing and various re-boots with clearing storage never got it to run.
I don’t know what triggered it. So I continued using the other phone which has a much smaller screen and slower CPU. Thankfully I started using the EXPO Dev Client and was able to use both phones again. My app ran fine released to the Play Store and App store before I switched. Since I switched to expo dev client, I cannot get the play store / app store versions to run even though it runs with expo start --no-dev --minify. I am pulling my hair out trying to find what is wrong. The logcat has only gibberish to me (I have someone looking at it to help me understand it). In the meantime, I wanted to start pairing down the app to find out what was not working in the production build and wanted to go back to Expo Go. Now on the other phone, Expo Go won’t start and I realized I have to solve this (or you do). The other phone is a Galaxy J3 Luna pro running Android 6.0.1.
The screen in both cases when it hangs is blank white on startup with the little inverted 3-D V and a 3-D o in the center (a second smaller one after the first screen).
Here is a logcat right after I start Expo Go with errors and Fatal. I am not sure I captured both times I tried to start it.
What can I do to clear things with this?
I started the log at 3:22 and started expo go a few seconds later.
