React Navigation make my app crash (android)

Hi everyone, have a good day, I so bless you read this thread :slight_smile:

Well, focus to issue, I tested with 2 versions of app by CRNA, version 1 only display ‘Hello World’ on screen, I built signed apk & app works without shout anything, however something wrong when I integrated react-navigation into app, here my app.js

import React from ‘react’;
import { View, Text } from ‘react-native’;
import { createAppContainer } from ‘react-navigation’;
import { createStackNavigator } from ‘react-navigation-stack’;
import Login from ‘./screens/Login’;
import Dashboard from ‘./screens/Dashboard’;

const AppNavigator = createStackNavigator({
Login: {
screen: Login,
navigationOptions: {
headerShown: false
Dashboard: {
screen: Dashboard,
navigationOptions: {
headerShown: false

const AppContainer = createAppContainer(AppNavigator);

export default class App extends React.Component {
render() {
return ;

here my package.json

I should upgrade or downgrade, add or remove lines?! … appreciate any idea, thanks!

Hey @diesel, To clarify, does the crash occur during development when testing in the Expo client? It sounds like you have it narrowed down a bit already. I would recommend making sure you have a valid version installed by using expo install rather than using yarn or npm directly.

Thanks your reply, you’re right I added library navigation by yarn, so I will try fortune by expo :slight_smile:

ps: someone say that old expo versions (35, 36) will works, maybe I only consider as last solution

Please let me know if you encounter more issues. I have a personal project running these versions on SDK37 without issue.

"@react-navigation/bottom-tabs": "^5.3.1",
"@react-navigation/material-top-tabs": "^5.2.10",
"@react-navigation/native": "^5.2.1",
"@react-navigation/stack": "^5.2.16",

it’ only a tip, no much maybe someone known but I write down to remind myself, I used built-in expo navigation so it run smoothly, initially I delegated to yarn and this guy summoned react-navigation with version … 4 while expo was 37, definitely android not like it

“when you want do something, think to expo first” :slight_smile:
