Why should I put source code on GitHub to use EAS UPDATE?

When trying to migrate to EAS UPDATE by following the steps in the documentation, the processes require the source to be in Git Hub, is there any way to not put this code in Git Hub?
follows demo where it requires GitHub Login

There is nothing about github there. You need to have local git repo and git needs to be configured, but you do not need any upstream repository.

Hi @devcaioeduardo

It’s asking for a username and email address so that the Git commits have useful author info. It is not asking for login details/passwords.
