Updates to target releaseChannel?

Guys, do you know does it is possible to update to target releaseChannel with Updates.checkForUpdateAsync() and Updates.fetchUpdateAsync() ?

Example:
I will make a button in the App like “Join BETA”
then the app with load { releaseChannel: "beta" } and restart the app.

Possible?
