Sentry Error since switching to EAS

Hi,

Since switching to EAS in SDK 47, we’ve been getting the following error come through our Sentry logs: Error: Unable to download file: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1202 "The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “classic-assets.eascdn.net”, which could put your confidential information at …

It’s not causing any issues to users as far as we know but it is filling up our logs. Is there a fix for this or is it safe to add to an ignore list?

Expo 47
EAS-CLI 2.9.0

Thanks,

Dan

hi there! it’s possible that this may have occurred because a user was behind a proxy that intercepted requests to classic-assets.eascdn.net. there have been no outages on our end that would have led to this issue.

Hi Brents, Apologies for the delay. This isn’t happening to one particular user, we are getting roughly 100+ separate events of this occurring to different users a day currently.

I wonder if it’s possible to log the IP address of the machine that the app is trying to connect to when it gets that error.

The current IP addresses for classic-assets.eascdn.net are:

classic-assets.eascdn.net has address 104.18.0.204
classic-assets.eascdn.net has address 104.18.1.204
classic-assets.eascdn.net has IPv6 address 2606:4700::6812:1cc
classic-assets.eascdn.net has IPv6 address 2606:4700::6812:cc

and the certificates for all of these IP addresses look good:
