Exponent memory leak? (ios11, High Sierra)

iOS 11 (simulator)
OS: High Sierra
Expo: 20.0.0
xcode: 9.0

Anyone seen exponent consume 12+ GBs of RAM in the above environment?

I assume you mean XDE itself? Its built on Electron which is known to use a bit of memory, like slack, etc.
