Does MapView using Google Maps have a price?

Hello,

I want to start using the MapView component (https://docs.expo.io/versions/v32.0.0/sdk/map-view) in my app, and I can see that it uses Google Maps.
Since Google Maps have a price that increase with the API request volume, I was wondering how this is handled here?
Is it free, if no, how much does it cost and how is the payment handled?
