Does EAS submit upload file from local or from Expo Server?

Managed workflow.

I have not used EAS build yet but am planning to migrate.

My question is simply when using eas submit is this uploading from the expo server to Apple/Google or from my own machine to Apple/Google. The reason I ask is that my upload speed is poor.

uploads to store are happening on the server, but you need to specify URL to the archive or when building on eas buildId. If you define it as a path it needs to be uploaded first to the expo servers.
