Deep linking with custom dev clients?

Platforms(Android/iOS/web/all): Android, iOS

Hi!

I am wondering how I can implement custom scheme deep links using apps built with custom dev clients.

I have built the app using eas build --profile development --platform iOS
I have the provisioned custom client installaltion downloaded on my iOS device.

Do I still need to use the exp:// scheme? Can I now use a custom scheme?
Or will my custom scheme be available only when I’ve built & submitted my app?

I think it would be worthwhile to update the documentation for deep linking to include any differences when working with custom dev clients.
