Cannot get unimodules working on iOS

Hello, I’m running a bare RN project and I want to use expo-local-authentication, so I had to install uni-modules.

I got it working on Android, but I cannot get it to work on iOS. When I try to console.log(Constants) I’m getting an object where all the values are either null or undefined (it gives me the correct values on Android)

I’ve tried to follow the steps laid out here Installing react-native-unimodules - Expo Documentation

I’ve tried running npx pod-install and npm run ios --reset-cache and clearing the build cache from xcode. Nothing seems to work and I hope you can help me.

I’m running with:
RN: 0.63.2
unimodules: 0.11.0

any success? i am having the same issue

I too have also spent several hours trying to get this to work with no success. I‘ve followed the “how to install unimodules guide“ from expo, but I keep getting app failed to build errors when running “yarn run-ios. I’ve tried multiple versions node and also tried the --use-npm option. Nothing works. I see several others are also having these same challenges. How can we get this escalated to the expo support team. I would love for them to validate their own installation guide.

@glthomas - if you believe you have found a bug then please create a new issue on Issues · expo/expo · GitHub and post more information. if you want to compare what you’ve done to a working installation then do expo init and choose a bare template. i’m not sure what you’re referring to with --use-npm - we will need a lot more detailed info than this message to get on the same page.

fwiw i just walked through the instructions on a new project and it worked as expected. i recorded a video and am uploading it right now so maybe you can see what you missed. i didn’t edit the video at all so apologies for the waiting time etc.

I was having similar issue with RN63, i found that pod install was not actually installing any of the unimodules hence the missing files issue and builds failing.

fix:

when you make all the changes to the files (appleDelegates and Podfile) as instructed go back and do another ‘pod install’ and you will see the UM modules pulled in.

Builds should work thereafter
